Living in East Hanover NJ: Local Real Estate & Community Guide

Living in East Hanover: A Local’s View of the East Hanover Real Estate Market

Welcome to East Hanover: My New Home

As someone who recently moved to East Hanover, New Jersey, and works in real estate, I have a unique perspective on what makes this town so special — and why it’s such a great place to call home.

East Hanover offers the perfect blend of suburban comfort with easy access to everything Northern New Jersey has to offer. What initially drew me here was the park!

(For more about me and my work, check out my About page.)

A Park Lover’s Paradise

I’m a college soccer mom, and my house is within walking distance of the soccer field, which also features a community pool and a walking path for my dogs, Bear and our newest family member, Bambi. Not to mention future pickle ball courts, and tennis courts. Yes, they have bathrooms.

But what really captivated me about this park are all the amazing events they host — from live music and picnics on the lawn to food truck festivals, parades, Italian festivals, craft shows, and now the Gingerbread Festival.

And guess what? They’re putting in an ice skating rink! I don’t even ice skate, but I’m already excited to check it out. Honestly, living here feels like being in a Hallmark Channel Christmas movie.

For event info, visit the East Hanover Township website.

The Heart of the Community

One of the things I love most about East Hanover is the strong sense of community. In addition, neighborhoods here are friendly, welcoming, and full of pride.

Whether you’re attending local events, grabbing a coffee at a neighborhood café, or walking your dog in the park, you feel connected to the people around you. This vibe makes East Hanover highly sought after by buyers looking for a neighborhood where they truly belong.

Not to mention — the ice cream shops! I’m a regular at Last Licks and follow them on social media for their seasonal flavors.http://www.lastlicksicecream.com/

Real Estate in East Hanover: What You Need to Know

The East Hanover real estate market reflects this desirability. Homes here range from charming ranch-style houses to spacious colonials and modern townhomes, offering options for every buyer’s taste and budget. Im not seeing much under 600,000. But there’s always that chance. You need a great buyers agent like myself who just focuses on the market.

The market is competitive, but with the right guidance and local knowledge — which I’m passionate about providing — buyers can find fantastic opportunities.

Living here myself, I know the ins and outs of the town. If you want to learn more about the school system, check out Niche.com’s East Hanover school ratings. You’ll be impressed.

Kiss the Chefs in this Town!

Want to hear about local eateries? Mama Rao’s is a local favorite. You walk in you hear the Itlain music going and the Italian talking chatter behind the counter. The owner Sal and Christine. Wonderful!

And I’ll mention this a lot…My husband is 100% speaking Italian, and we own our own catering business, Venue 104 in Cranford https://www.venue104.com/ but I still find myself grabbing lunch at Mama Raos a couple of times a week. Their fresh mozzarella is probably the best in NJ. They have Italian subs like the Grilled Chicken, Fresh Mozzarella, and Broccoli Rabe — my personal favorite.

The bread comes straight from Brooklyn, as the restaurant originated in Dyker Heights. Every time I step inside, I feel like I’m back in Bayridge.

My son recently discovered a great Taylor ham, egg, and cheese at the local Columbian café and is all about his “TEC SPK.”

The bakery to hit up is Sorrento’s — if you haven’t tried their Cannoli Cake, well, you haven’t lived.

And my go-to pizza spot is Romeo and Julietta’s. I’m still exploring East Hanover, so any suggestions are always welcome!

Getting Involved: Bocce Ball and Beyond

East Hanover is an easy sell. There are agents here who have been selling for years, but I’m glowing because I’m happy — I’m an agent who lives here.

I walk the town, eat in the town, and have found it easy to make friends here.

Oh — and my husband Franco and son Gianfranco will be joining the local Bocce Ball club this spring, so I’ll share more about that and the new gazebo they’re building soon.
